I don’t think I can begin to properly describe this condiment. If you haven’t tried it I wouldn’t recommend it. I’ve found a few people who like it but most of the people in or group don’t. Perhaps it’s an acquired Aussie taste. It has the appearance of a dark tar in a jar, or it comes in a squeeze tube. You can spread it on breads. But ew, it’s flavor is so unique. Its like bitter, old, burnt salty paste. I had to try it while in Australia but never again, yuck.
